Black Family
Here are titles, which through the exploration of sometimes-controversial themes and characters highlight the contemporary state of the black family. These are the stories of places and people often left out of the grand conversation to the detriment of all of society. Mostly though, these are the stories of journeys to and from home, stories that are first universal in documenting that one thing we all have in common, a communal, ancestral, link with others of like history. These titles define and redefine the boundaries of the black family, and are selected to engender conversations on our concepts of the black family and the historical circumstances that cast on our ideals varying degrees of shadow and light.
