Tika is in the process of becoming a man. Together with her girlfriend Nicki filmmaker David Barclay Moore lets the audience in on Tika’s transitioning while discussing views on black male privilege. Here we see a casual and intimate portrayal of a relationship confronting the very essence of the value of appearing male. Tika confesses that she is treated more equally, assertively, as a man while Nicki ultimately expresses some misgivings on the effect of the newly injected testosterone in their relationship. Is Tika right? Are black men coddled by traditional structures of family and relationships?

Hi, I was introduced to you on Sippin' on Ink. I like your film here. Nicely done. I'm happy for Tika to still have that support in her life. I hope they last.

As a transgender woman myself, I DON'T UNDERSTAND how Tika would allow ANYONE including his wife and the author of the blurb that goes with this piece, to refer to him in the feminine terms (i.e., "she" & "her"). I don't see why he didn't seem to have a problem with that!

I LOVED this documentary of Tika and Nicki's journey, so tender and loving, so brave and assertive on both of their parts. Embrace life and live it on your terms, daily! That is what they are doing, staying together through the good and difficult times. My blessings are with them for the long term.
Thank you, David B. Moore, for conceptualizing this outstanding adventure! I learned of you and your vision via Sippin on Ink!
