Covid-19 Emergency Relief Resources
Got the Covid-19 Blues? You're Not Alone!
Investment in visionary content makers is a core part of Black Public Media’s mission. That’s why, during these unsettling times, we’re working with our partners to identify assistance programs that specifically target the creative community. If you need aid, consult the directory of emergency relief resources below.
Times are hard, but we’re in this together and once the crisis passes, as Sister Maya Angelou reminds us, we will rise again:
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide …
... Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
—From “Still I Rise,” by Maya Angelou

HEAR FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Our E.D. Dispatch offers newsletter subscribers a weekly chance to hear directly from Leslie Fields-Cruz, our executive director, about the issues and events of the week that matter to Black media makers. Whether you're interested in professional development, programming, pipeline diversity, access to funding and technology, distribution, or equity and inclusion in nonfiction storytelling, this is one weekly email you won't want to miss.
JOIN OUR VIRTUAL COMMUNITY
The Covid-19 pandemic prompted Black Public Media to launch a new series of monthly watch parties. Since going to the cinema and attending film festivals are activities we can't currently enjoy, the BPM Watch Parties are the next best thing. Follow us on Social Media for updates about the Watch Party schedule and other virtual events.
