You may recognize funnyman Wyatt Cenac from his stints as a correspondent for the Daily Show. You can also see him soon as the host of our new upcoming AfroPoP season, season 4!
Recently NBPC held the AfroPoP production shoot in a Williamsburg studio, and we brought some flavor into the industrial neighborhood. Check out the behind the scenes video below with Mr. Cenac (find out why he loves public television so much – hint, its something about Sesame Street).
We have interviews with Leslie Fields-Cruz, NBPC’s VP of Programming, about the importance of getting young producers of color a chance to develop their production skills, and chat with the AfroPoP producer, Angela Tucker about this year’s shoot and how fun (and orange) it was, as well as about the films we have in store for you for season 4. This season we have an intriguing and eclectic mix of films starting Sunday, January 22, 2012 exclusively on WORLD Voices. Want to find out what your local WORLD channel is, or even your PBS local station? Download this helpful PDF.
You may also check out this useful Google Map for a good listing of WORLD Channels across the nation.
You should also check out the series trailer including all the titles from the season. From Mali to Los Angeles this season is full of inspirational stories, check it out.
