1.8M Donors Campaign
Welcome to the home of Black Public Media’s 1.8M DONORS campaign. We’re working to Fuel the Future of Black Stories by attracting 1.8 million donors to support development of our new Black Stories Production Fund. By donating $5 or more, you can help us reach our goal.
Over its lifespan, Black Public Media has invested more than $17 million in film and immersive media projects that reflect the global Black experience. Through these investments, we’ve helped advance the careers of hundreds of filmmakers and immersive media makers. The extent to which we can continue providing this support is contingent upon our ability to attract philanthropic partners and individual donors who share a commitment to our mission. The Black Stories Production Fund will free BPM to support projects and makers at our discretion, without concern for the capricious whims of politics.
If you enjoy having free access to stories about the global Black experience, you should be a BPM supporter. If you believe Black-centered content should have a place in the growing XR media universe, you should be a BPM supporter. We believe that the world is a stronger place when the contributions of every community are respected, valued and included. You can play a role in ensuring stories like the ones listed below get made and distributed.
For nearly 50 years, BPM has addressed the needs of unserved and underserved media makers and audiences. To date, BPM’s work has led to:
100s OF NETWORK BROADCAST HOURS
2 DIGITAL SERIES
5 EMMYS
10 PEABODYS
3 ANTHEM AWARDS
14 EMMY NOMINATIONS
2 OSCAR NOMINATIONS
The fastest and easiest way you can support this effort is to make a donation. We welcome contributions of any amount starting at $5. You can make a one-time donation, or become a recurring donor who contributes on a monthly basis. In addition, you can:
