BLACK PUBLIC MEDIA

WEEKLY DISPATCH

By Leslie Fields-Cruz

It’s Time to Celebrate!

It is true that the older you get, the faster time seems to fly. Perhaps it is because as the years pile on, we grow more adept at squeezing activities into our busy calendars. Which, if we’re not careful, leaves us less time to fully appreciate all that we’ve accomplished and experienced.

BPM has a long and strong history of festive end-of-the-year parties, and 2022 will not be an exception. Though we had hoped to host an in-person event, the climbing rates of Covid-19, Flu and RSV transmission have persuaded us to hold this year’s party online, once again. But don’t worry, it won’t be any less festive.

Mark your calendar for Thurs., December 22, 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Please register here in advance and remember that our virtual party platform works best on a desktop or a laptop. It doesn’t play nicely with mobile devices, so we discourage you from using those to join us.

Though many of us are still mourning the loss of our beloved founding executive director, Mable Haddock, and our long-time friend and mentor, Michele Materre, we’re certain they’d be thrilled to know that BPM is stronger than ever. Our board and staff are poised to step boldly into the new year carrying these predecessors’ legacies forward.

During the mixer, we will announce a few exciting programs that are upcoming and will hold a special AfroPoP Season 15 Trivia contest, with prizes going to the winners. It’s a party you won’t want to miss.

I’ll see you then!
