What Do YOU Think?

BLACK PUBLIC MEDIA

WEEKLY DISPATCH

By Leslie Fields-Cruz

Is it just me or did June go by in a flash? Here it is July already. I’m currently on vacation, hoping to recharge for the days ahead. While I”m away, the BPM staff will be gathering intel to help inform some of our plans for the year ahead. One way we’re doing this is by conducting two audience surveys. We REALLY wanna know, what do you think?

Take our website and newsletter surveys

The first survey targets people who visit our website. Our website underwent a major overhaul a couple of years ago, and we continue to improve it. This summer, we want to know how you’re using it, how useful you find it, what works, what doesn’t, and what else we might add that isn’t already there.

The second survey focuses on our monthly newsletter and this blog, our Weekly Dispatch. Again, we want to know how useful these tools are for you and welcome any ideas you might have for how to improve them.

We hope you’ll take a few moments in the next week or two to participate in our surveys. They are part of our ongoing efforts to ensure we’re providing you with information, connections and tools that will make you stronger, better connected and better informed members of the public media community.  Both surveys will go live after the July 4th weekend. Please take a few minutes to help us help you.

Independence Day Viewing

Finally, as you celebrate the nation’s independence, we invite you to add the following films to your July 4th holiday watchlist (links to each are found in the carousel below):

American Coup: Wilmington 1898

Commuted

Descended from the Promised Land: The Legacy of Black Wall Street

Fannie Lou Hamer’s America

Freedom Hill

Marion Anderson: The Whole World in Her Hands

The American Diplomat

Public media has long been a reliable source of films that tell compelling Black stories. BPM has no intentions of straying from its mission. Your feedback strenghtens our abiliy to respond to today’s challenges in ways that fit your work style and bolster your success. We look forward to hearing from you.
